South Press Coffee Shop has become the "HAPPILY EVER AFTER" part of a Love story for East Tennessee Queer Folk. It was a coffee shop that started as a sober safe space in 2020, hosted by an adored community member, that has become a venue for entertainment and meeting place of thousands. READ MORE HERE

Knoxville Planned Parenthood Offers Mobile Health Unit Located at Messiah Lutheran Church
Planned Parenthood has been utilizing a Telehealth, health care via telephone option for patients since January 2022. I was informed at the beginning of May that Planned Parenthood has begun to offer medical services again in a physical capacity by way of their new Mobile Medical Unit. READ MORE HERE

Knox Pride Vocational Center Offers Events, Classes, Safe Space & A Thriftique Thrift Store
Knox Pride Center offers many events and classes at their South Knoxville location on Chapman Hwy. The center has added a Thriftique Thrift Store, Food, Toiletries Pantry and other items a financially struggling person might need to make their life more comfortable. Since our founding, KGMC has grown with members travelling from as far away as North Georgia, Southern Virginia, and Chattanooga. Club Q Vigil Planned at Union Grove United Methodist Church
Local LGBTQ organizations have planned a candlelight vigil in remembrance of the LGBTQ Club Q Colorado Springs Shooting Victims. Appalachian OUTreach released this statement, "Appalachian OUTReach in partnership with the Maryville College Pride Club and Union Grove UMC will be providing a vigil for Club Q victims and survivors on December 7 @ 6:00 pm at the Union Grove United Methodist Church 1151 Lane Dr. in Friendsville TN. Hate Crimes Resources for Knoxville TN
I recently set in on a Community Partners Conference Call with the FBI, Department of Justice and local law enforcement for Colorado Springs related to the Club Q LGBTQ nightclub shooting on Nov 20, 2022. Some of my members have been discussing this, they are uncomfortable going to large religious denominations where they may not be accepted. Knox Pride Festival 2022 First In Person event since 2020
Knox Pride announced it's first in person event since 2020. Knox Pride Festival will be held in the fall of 2022. The festival is a 3 day event which is the first of its kind for our area. Knox Pride President John Camp stated, "we are still a FREE festival". READ MORE HERE
Planned Parenthood Still Offers Some Services after Fire
Planned Parenthood announced on their social media that the Knoxville clinic has burned New Year's Eve morning, however, patients will continue to receive services such as gender affirming hormone therapy or birth control refills. to learn how to access services or to donate to the organization.
