South Press Coffee Celebrated 2 yrs as a Queer Sober Safe Space and Love of the LGBTQ Community of Knoxville TN. In my opinion this is truly a place to fall in love with. South Press Coffee will celebrate its 2 yr anniversary this month 2022. South Press' Facebook Business Page states it is a " a locally sourced, eco-friendly, hand crafted coffee and tea house" however, in my opinion this little slice of rainbow heaven has become a LGBTQ+ Ally's community favorite place to congregate.

The shop's location is 3615 Chapman Highway. This is their 2nd location in the last 2 years most likely due to outgrowing their previous store front. The newer location is 2800 square feet in size but only 100 yards away from where the original South Press coffee shop stood. 

Joslynn Fish, the owner of South Press Coffee shop, recently went to her business social media account to ask for viewer assistance with the new extended hours of her coffee shop "Us being open this late only works if the space is filled with people and kind of make it worth it for us to be open late. Um. So if you have a little time to come visit us or even if you don't have time to come see us...if everybody that this reached would just reach out to 5 friends that enjoy South Press, who appreciate the community we are building here, could just share with them that the hours are extended out it would just be really helpful to have people in the space." In another social media post Ms. Fish discusses coming events, "We have a lot of fun stuff coming up, so please stay tuned to our social media. Just staying open until 6 and 8 is not all we have in plans, we will be bringing back nighttime events, like trivia and bingo, drag shows, and burlesque shows, live music all of those things are coming back." I attended South Press' 1st Thursday Poetry night on September 1, 2022. I even got up on stage to read a piece I had just written. I received finger snaps for my effort, snapping your fingers is poetry slam applause.  I am personally excited to see all the events South Press may plan for the future. Follow South Press on Instagram or Facebook for the most up to date information on their events. 

I can see this coffee shop as a great study hub for students. The University of Tennessee Campus and Football Stadium are a mere 2 miles from the coffee shop. I've come to think of South Press as a great place to find LGBTQ community. I tend to run into a new or old friend there every time I visit.  I consider it a good place to take a respite from the chaos of the outside world. Inside the shop you can find more to do than just study, enjoy coffee or treats, there are board games, puzzles, baskets full of art supplies. Additionally, there are 4 libraries throughout the shop, and a comic book library as well.". Bookshelves of books provided by the Little Rainbow Library,
