Blount Pride Festival began in as a small pride festival held at the Bird and the Book Pub in Maryville TN. Previous locations have included private businesses, community parks both in Maryville and Alcoa TN, plus Clayton Center for the Arts, Maryville College, Maryville, TN where the Christian Singer and Drag Queen Flamy Grant performed. The event has grown in size to where it needs a bigger space. The 2025 Blount Pride Festival was held at a park in Alcoa TN on Sept 6, 2025 there as a heavy rain for half of the day. I attended and found the vendors in good spirits. I received many hugs from friends and new acquaintances. I say a pride festival is basically a family reunion.

Update April 23, 2024, Blount Pride Fest 2024 As of April the event had not been announced. This Festival is normally held in the Fall in Blount County Tennessee. The 2023 event was a private event with monitored entry, photo id checks and wrist bands admittance. these were efforts to make the space safe for attendees. (I enjoyed the event and thought the volunteers did a wonderful job making it welcome but unincumbered by protesters.)
